Teri Lynn (Me, the Narrator, Getting sucked into the RPG World)

Teri is of average height, thin, with long brown hair which she usually wears tied back out of her face. She has dark hazel eyes and a pale complexion. Her native clothing consists of jean cut-offs, a small black tank top, boots and a leather jacket. However, she has quickly adapted to more durable and less noticeable native clothing. She wears a ruby pendant which she received from the Temple of Flame in Reiki, Tashisei. Unlike Stana, she can easily remove the pendant- having accepted (perhaps too quickly) her role in Narada.
Teri is forever hungry, becoming irritable or easily manipulated when she hasn't eaten in a while. However, she can't cook for shit, and is terribly lazy about getting herself food, unless she's buying it already made. She has a mischevious, teasing sense of humor when in a good mood, and a sarcastic one when more cranky. As her fellow characters will be quick to tell you, Teri is incredibly moody- quick to anger, quick to laugh, and unpredictable. She needs a feeling of direction in her life, a destination to reach or something that needs to be done if she is to be her normal self: when she feels like things are stagnating, or she is unable to move forward, her irritablity comes out.
Teri is currently wary of becoming close to people. Inside, she feels abandoned, but is unsure who to direct that feeling at (Shinji, Stana, the Fire Element). She firmly believed Shinji to be the Fire Guardian- his dissapearance, the fear she feels from him when she's tried to reach him, and her contact by Shinji's "Other", keep her worried and wary. Until a recent return to the Temple of Flame, Teri's belief in the prophecy had been shaken by Shinji's leaving. Her decision to follow the prophecy has been reaffirmed, however, as well as her determination to convince both Stana and Shinji of their roles in Narada.
Teri has special talents in body language. This has developed, through Teri's time in Narada, into a strong Empathy talent. Empathy is one of the Talents Lost to Narada during the Rending. As far as she knows, Teri is the only Empath in Narada (barring the Ancients, who exist spiritually in the Temple of Flame). Empathy is met with fear and confusion, as most of Narada's citizens would never recognise or remember the Lost talent. This makes Teri feel very solitary.
She is able to sense and feel others' emotions and is able to project her own emotions into other people. Currently, Teri is struggling with extremes- either sensing too much at once, or shutting herself off to her talent. As she becomes more aware of her gift and more frustrated with her lack of control, she will fine-tune these abilities. However, having learned her Talents by herself, without a mentor or guide except her peers, Teri lacks any sort of "Code of Chivalry" that might have come with learning Empathy. As she learns more about the nature of the power, and as her conception of herself matures, she will most likely develop a ruthless, but just use of her Empathy.
Recent developments center around the link between Shinji and Teri. Trying to copy the other's ability to invade her mind, Teri attempted to contact Shinji empathetically. This was successful, except for the continued barrier the Other poses- a threat which Teri recognises, but only marginally understands.
She has also, by accident, managed to draw energy from people into herself. Her body rejects this energy, and purges itself. She will eventually begin to hone this ability into some form of attack as she is currently defenseless.
Teri is travelling with R-2, a boy who recently entered Narada from her own reality. R-2 has helped Teri understand more how to teach herself about her talent, and how to increase her control. They are travelling to Seiyo, where Teri hopes to find out about the sudden dissapearance of the Water Element, as well as reunite with Shinji. She refuses to look much beyond this point, as she feels a blind need to find him as soon as possible, despite her worries that the reunification will be unwanted on his part.
Had a dominating father who was very militant.. actually used to be a lieutennant-something or other in the US Marines during Vietnam. Because of that, taught Teri hhow to be Aggressive-- she learned how to be assertive later in life (this was a major problem in elementary school, as she had a tendency to .. well let's say.. get what she wanted, in a less than girlie way. No, I didn't go around beating ppl up. But I was aggressive, if just not violent. Hmm. Also, Dad taught me (teri) how to fight-- not that I'm any good at it, i'm not. But i like to pretend a lot. Which, so far, has worked exceptionally well. It's the attitude that coutns most of the time, right? Dad divorced Mom at an inconvenient time for Teri, tho she wasn't surprised and dealt with it nicely. However, any sort of infidelity is NOT tolerated, and those who commit such crimes are severely punished. SEVERELY. Hmmm. What else can I add. However, she has little problem with sexual or other- relations, so long as they aren't adultrous. She is a major theater buff in all aspects, and so has a love for dramatics (heh heh heh) as well as a passionate and often-fragmental nature. She is long time friends with Spiffy, Paul, and Stana, as well as Jason (mr. Psycho) and Emily (kiranati, who is interested in joining)... emily and jason go to school with teri at Loomis, the administrative hell that is prep school. She is applying/receiving letters from colleges presently, and is uptight and worried about that, as well as on a college-visitng spree. Very great at english, very lazy at typing, and very hateful of math. She relys on a calculator even for simple math, not because she can't DO the math, but because she is so hateful of it, that she can't bear to spend the extra energy THINKING about it for more than the two seconds it takes to punch the calculator buttons. She's very ecclectic, very horny when drunk, or.. well... slightly tispy (she makes a point not to get drunk because she did once and it was a bad experience.. not because of any other reason, just because of too much alcohol's effect on the body). She also took loads of dance and art.
