A reclusive sect of Warrior Monks who have resigned themselves to
the training and guiding of young men, although as of late women have
also been allowed to join, much to the joy of the men! The main teaching
of the Monastary is that of Spiritual Completion. They focus on the
belief that the body is the tool of the mind, and that it should be in
top physical form if it is to serve the mind properly. To this end, the
monks train their students in several strict exercises which increase in
difficulty as the student increases in skill.
As a rule, no one is allowed to leave the monastary until they have
completed their training. Anyone who breaks this rule will be severely
corrected.
Although the monastary has no religion per se, they do beleive in a
divine force, and subsequently, in an evil pressence. All magic is
partained to evil, and all magic users are therefor treated as servants
of the evil one.
The Monastary is controlled by a small circle of Elders, the masters
of the Monastary. To become an Elder, one must first be able to attain
and return with the fang of a Great Bear, hence the monastary's title.
One might also become an elder by birthright or by the choice of the
existing circle.
Finally, the Monastary has taken upon itself the duty of the
protection of Myridon. This defence is the Enforcers. The elite of the
monastary are granted mighty weapons that complement their skills,
turning each into a fast, heavily armed killing machine. Such a status
is rarely sought, however, since it requires the absolute control over
ones body. Once an Enforcer is chosen, he (or she) can no longer leave
the service of the Monastary. Unless, of course, he or she fails in
their duties, for which they are stripped of their rank and banished
from the monastary with their heads hung in shame.

Orchid, a student, Shinji's best friend at the monastery
Most High Elder Reinas, head of the circle, her grandfather
Karu, a student
Brother Maxwell (or Maximilian, he goes by both, for some reason),
resident not-so-nice person.
As-of-yet-unnamed monk with Maxwell. He would have been a new Elder,
if not for Margiaz. Margiaz was the man who found Shinji and allowed
him to join the monastary.
